50 West 66th Street | A New Standard of Luxury on the Upper West Side

In New York's Upper West Side, classic pre-war apartments, cultural landmarks, and Central Park have shaped the unique lifestyle of this community. Now, a brand-new ultra-luxury residence is redefining the skyline— 50 West 66th Street . Located between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue , the project is within walking distance of Central Park to the east and Lincoln Center to the west. At approximately 775 feet tall , the building is one of the tallest structures on the Upper West Side and will house 127 luxury condominium residences .

01 / Architectural Overview
50 West 66th Street: Snøhetta's First Residential Project in the United States
2026 Project completed | 70 Building floors | 127 Building units. | 50,000 Residents are provided with exclusive facilities |
Designed by the international architecture firm Snøhetta , this is Snøhetta's first residential project in the United States. As the design team behind cultural projects such as the Oslo Opera House and the entrance building to the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York, Snøhetta brought its signature sculptural architectural language to the New York residential design. Instead of the common all-glass skyscraper form, the building draws inspiration from the natural rock formations of Manhattan, using continuous cutting, setbacks, and bevels to create a sculpted geometric silhouette.
The building's base uses hand-laid textured limestone, bronze, and glass, echoing the warm tones of traditional Upper West Side architecture. As the building ascends, its volume gradually thins, with the angular cuts creating a series of private Loggia terraces . The tower crown continues to use metallic bronze elements, forming a highly recognizable urban silhouette under sunlight and nighttime lighting.
02 / Location and Landscape

Another truly rare feature of 50 West 66th Street is its location. The project is situated in the heart of the Lincoln Center area on the Upper West Side, connecting Central Park on one end and Lincoln Center, one of New York's most important cultural and artistic centers, on the other side. The Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Ballet, and the New York Philharmonic are all located here, while Central Park is situated not far to the east of the project.
Transportation is equally convenient, with the 66th Street–Lincoln Center subway station (Line 1) less than 500 feet from the project; and further transfers to Lines A, B, C, D, and 1 are available at 59th Street–Columbus Circle.
Therefore, living here means more than just owning a home near Central Park; it means having access to the three most representative lifestyle resources of the Upper West Side: parks, culture, and urban convenience .

04 / Two residential series: The House and The Tower
The residences at 50 West 66th Street do not employ a uniform interior design; instead, they are divided into two distinct series based on their elevation:
The House
The House Collection, a low-rise residential building , was designed by Shamir Shah Design and is inspired by classic pre-war homes on the Upper West Side.
The overall space emphasizes warmth, tranquility, and a sense of home, using natural stone, wood veneer, and wide oak flooring to reinterpret the scale and texture of a traditional New York mansion within a modern new development. Some residences boast ceiling heights of up to approximately 12 feet 8 inches , and the kitchens feature custom cabinetry from Smallbone of Devizes , along with high-end appliances from Miele and Sub-Zero.

The Tower
Stepping into The Tower Collection on the upper floors , the residential atmosphere transforms entirely. Designed by the international firm AB Concept , the interiors utilize expansive glass curtain walls, more modern and restrained materials, and ceiling heights reaching approximately 14 feet 6 inches , focusing instead on the New York cityscape beyond the building. From here, views extend to Central Park, the Hudson River, and the Manhattan skyline ; some residences also feature private loggia embedded in the building's structure at the corners, making the outdoor space an integral part of the high-rise living experience.
This "one building, two living experiences" design allows 50 West 66th Street to retain the warmth of traditional Upper West Side residences while also offering the expansive views sought after by the new generation of high-rise apartments.
